چکیده
Abstract Laboratory tests and column were carried out in a waterwoks to investigate the removal of short- long-chain PFAS using activated carbon filtration ion exchange treatment. For all adsorbents, sorption affinity short-chain per- polyfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCA) was significantly lower than that or sulfonic (PFSA). In PFAS-polluted groundwater matrix, PFCA PFBA PFPeA could only be sufficiently removed with over short run times 6000 11,000 bed volumes (BV), respectively. Longer chain length C6 more longer times. The media also achieved relatively 5000 BV for PFBA, 10,000BV 18,000 PFHxA. These are sometimes those carbon. Due higher material costs media, there nevertheless no operating when exchangers used single-use mode. However, can regenerated then reused which result economic advantages compared filtration. extensive regeneration, especially elution PFAS, additional use ethanol is needed process. contrast, extracted without organic solvent from weakly basic exchanger.

Pharmaceuticals have gained significant attention in recent years due to the environmental risks posed by their versatile application and occurrence in the natural aquatic environment. The transportation and distribution of pharmaceuticals in the environmental media mainly depends on their sorption behavior in soils, sediment–water systems and waste water treatment plants, which varies widely a...

Evaluation of the Removal Efficiency of Perfluoroalkyl Substances in Drinking Water Sophie Englund Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are chemicals that have been used for over 50 years. They are both hydrophobic and hydrophilic, which make them useful in a wide range of products, both in the domestic and industrial market. Recently, the global attention on PFASs has increased due to th...

The elimination of selected pharmaceuticals (bezafibrate, clofibric acid, carbamazepine, diclofenac) during drinking water treatment processes was investigated at lab and pilot scale and in real waterworks. No significant removal of pharmaceuticals was observed in batch experiments with sand under natural aerobic and anoxic conditions, thus indicating low sorption properties and high persistenc...
